Paramapadam (Snakes and ladder)

By Roopa Rani Bussa

Contributory Author for Spark Igniting Minds

Life’s lessons in simple game,

Teaches to be noble and good,

The snakes represents malignant,

And ladders are the elevators!

Ancestors gifted Game of knowledge,

Children would learn good and bad,

Being virtuous they climb ladder,

Snake bites the wickedness!

Throw the cowrie shells,

And move forward from left to right,

Each step it educates mankind,

Good goes up and bad comes down!

Cultivate righteousness with integrity,

Forbid yourself being prey for immortality,

Past karmas make you sit on snake,

Strive again to lose those karma’s effects!

After crossing many births,

We are eligible to reach heaven,

Game is over coz, there’s no rebirth,

Only good deeds would take us heaven!
