A phenomenal day

The Phenomenal Day

By Sahana Sundar

Others wonder where the secret of our batch lies,

When we often come together celebrating a unique style of life,

Once, we got together with a spirit of love and care,

It was on our beloved headmasters birthday,

He was 90, and still with zeal and passion,

He couldn’t hear much, but was there with all fervour,

Girls were in yellow and boys wore grey,

As we honoured him with gifts, prayer and shawl,

He was the happiest man with a beautiful wife beside,

And our regards for him was from deep inside,

You know it was a phenomenal day!

And a phenomenal day it was!!

Others wonder where the secret of our batch lies,

You know we celebrated that day with a unique show,

Our HKV played the best tunes on his violin 🎻

It was a treat for our ears and divine feeling in our hearts♥️

The tunes were classical and were the most familiar,

His Vandemataram was ultimate as it stirred the love for our tricolour,

The dances by our beautiful damsels made us speechless,

Aishwarya and Mekhala’s performances were matchless,

Whether they depicted surrender, love or bravery,

The facial expressions of emotions were exemplary,

You know it was a phenomenal day!!

And a phenomenal day it was!!

Others wonder where the secret of our batch lies,

Yes, there are talented people who are very nice,

One such gem of our batch is Dr.Lokesh Hebbani,

He is no less than the Bollywood lyricist Rabbani,

If Rabbani wrote mujhko itna bataye koyi,

Our Lokesh wrote a beautiful song on janumadina,

As we honoured our great headmaster that day,

Lokesh’s melodious voice was full on play,

His love filled voice echoed in the aura of the hall,

Praising HMs smile and seeking his blessing call,

He sent this recorded song from US, where he lives,

And this shubhashaya song is lingering on everybody’s lips.

You know it was a phenomenal day!!

And a phenomenal day it was!!
