The saga of Siddhartha brings forth and under the limelight, the stark reality of the various issues our men face.
What apparently seems to be hunky-dory is truly not! The tendency of people to label eminent citizens as successful is the source of this disaster. Successful people, having financial abundance are believed to be happy. This is a common belief.
IS THAT SO?
Why is a responsible guy always under duress to appear ‘responsible’ to society? Why can’t he be himself, mostly strong and sometimes weak?
Our society conditions boys/men to appear strong. They are not to expose their vulnerabilities. They are made to believe that the world is waiting to take advantage of their vulnerabilities and suppress them in the game of life. They grow up without a support system to help them face and overcome their low phases. They grow up believing that no one will listen to them and no one can help them gain clarity. Seeking professional coaching and mentoring services is still equated to having a mental illness, hence it is a taboo. Why should such brilliant talents be overshadowed by societal dogmas?
It’s time for people to re-think, unlearn and re-learn. It’s time to view failures in an empowering context. It’s time to recognize that men will get emotionally vulnerable too and they need a strong support system to pull them out of it. It’s time to take action before these incidents become an epidemic.
IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP AND ACT!
