For years the sepals enveloped,
The fragile red victim in darkness,
Years through dew fell and dried,
The sepals’ heart felt damp for hours and days!
The sun then shone a bit too bright,
The sepals split and dried,
The victim, exposed to a greater fight,
Remained closed with awe, blind!
Knowledge dawned, realization seeped,
The stigma grew, anthers emerged within,
Warmth enveloped, petals coloured,
A blush at the sun, the petals smiled open!
