With a lusty wail, you came into this world,
That moment onwards, you became my world,
Your endearing smile, slightly tilted head,
Those impishly twinkling eyes left everything unsaid,
You fought circumstances, even in your innocence,
Your little brain packed in a lot of common sense,
Your laughter gave me a lease of life,
Your love eased all pain and strife,
With you, I enjoyed the pleasures of motherhood,
Much as I endured the pains all mothers should,
Today, you are my friend, my li’l one,
Battles we fought together, we always won,
In a world where all hanker for a son,
My dear daughter, you are my rising sun!
