My friend is no more

By Sahana Sundar

Founder - Spark Igniting Minds

The pandemic didn't leave her to face the harshness of the world,

Very soon she was affected with high fever sore throat and cold,

Breath became heavy and started to drop,

It was an extreme bout of turbulence,

She sat in a boat that rocked from side to side,

Amidst a roaring sea about to capsize,

I knew a lot of them who had spluttered,

Now it was her turn to get untethered,

The sky above once rich and blue,

With fluffy clouds of brilliant white,

Now appeared pale, pallid and sick,

Meadows once vibrant and yellow,

Had been stripped off their colour,

Ghost like figures crossed her mind,

She held his hand tight and transcended to another world!
