On the Operation Bed

By Sahana Sundar

Founder - Spark Igniting Minds

What's to come is still unsure!

I think, lying on the surgical bed,

Scary blades shiver my breaths,

Dizzy lights scorch my words,

Naked are my limbs as cold cankered trees,

Hammering cacophony, my ears buzz like bees,

As crowd covers, draped in ink satin blue,

Feared of scalpels, to the hard surface I glue,

I remember the stars on the sluggish sky,

Is it right on board for death to scurry by?

As to the God of death, I whisper a hymn,

The air around gathers to be in a grim,

I close my eyes to slip into a state of reverie,

Past is deleted from windows of my memory!
