Sita in the eyes of Rama

By Sahana Sundar

Founder - Spark Igniting Minds

My wife's eyes were nothing like sun,

Post box red wasn't as red as her lips,

The depth of her dark eyes spoke many a word,

Her hairs dark and smooth like feathers of a bird,

In a face o fair, I saw roses on her cheeks,

Golden studs of stone glittered in deep pinks,

Then in her heart, love is treasured for me,

And in her breath my name whispers in glee,

But still I pushed her into the blaze of pyre,

To test her love, if it was genuine as fire,

The flames of fire did not wipe her smile,

The red raging roars shocked for a while,

Like a lotus fresh she stood in the inferno,

My heart burnt, but she came out unscathed!
