She waited and longed for him all day long,
Nature showed her love, through the cuckoo's song,
Her face spruced up with a divine smile,
Like golden daffodils she danced a while!
Sparrows twittered songs of melody divine,
Waters gurgled bubbling in deep ravine,
Entire nature tasted the first showers of rain,
The babbling brooks came down from rugged terrain!
He said to his love who was smiling young,
"Can I compare you to the day of spring?"
Marvelling she stood, gazing at the yellow sun,
As her leafy breath heaved up and down!
