As we sojourned across terrains,
Those golden stretches held me awed;
Their faces turned to the fiery sun,
Those passersby with smile applaud!
They stretched afar in unending joy
Like a golden carpet spreading mirth;
I see myself at one with them,
Of inner spirit, with no dearth!
Tufts of clouds could never hide,
The sunflower's spirit and golden glow;
As is the inner steel within me,
Which lets me strive, even when slow!
Rooted to earth, they dare to rise
And face the sun at every dawn,
I learn from them to never say die,
That sea of sunflower does courage spawn!
