वहां शोहरत मिला था, दौलत मिला था
मिला था ख्याति सुनाम।
भीड़ भी चंचल, दोस्त थे हर दम
जब तक न हुए बदनाम।।
एक हवा का झोंका आया,
बुझ गई यश और काम।
ऐसा नाम का क्या करना,
गिरना जिसका अंजाम।।
हवा में जब उड़ने लगे थे,
तालियां भेदी आसमां।
सकून है दिल में, अगर तुम मानो ,
यश सदा ही चंद दिनों का मेहमान।।
