INNER LIGHT

Capt Sahana Sundar (Retd)

My eyes were set upon a poet of grace,

And to my surprise, I felt as if I was a fruit in glacé,

As his light of grace touched my heart,

The miracle muse woke up in a trance,

From then, I could grasp all that I couldn’t,

Yeah, and I could write all that I wouldn’t,

But then, the poet of grace vanished beyond my vision,

But the light he threw, within me grew,

And all I did was to walk on a sunny hill,

Though with haze all around, the road was clear,

And I saw some light similar beyond the hill,

Maybe it was a mirage or the shadow he threw,

I walked to chase as I gasped in joy,

And all that I realised was it was my inner light hanging there…
