RAIN-RAIN

By Sahana Sundar

Hey rain, where have you vanished?

We had enough of sun and dry days,

Can’t you keep yourself awake,

And give the takeaways of coolness and sweetness?

Where have you hidden your rhythm and melodies?

Our ears taras rahaan hain to listen to the voice of your showerings…

Where have you gone to pour your Ambrosia?

We are waiting here to drench in your Constantia…

It is great to be a part of your affection and enthusiasm,

And hum the song of hum thum, thum hum,

Your long spell of delays only threatens,

And the all enduring strength of earth weakens,

So, oh rain, oh rain, please rain and rain,

And make this a happy and prosperous terrain…
