Withdrawing from life!

By Neelima Mohol

The recent suicide of the young film actor lead me to write a short series on mental health, which would be easy to understand by all and these can be resourceful for the people.

What causes withdrawal!

Withdrawal doesn't happen all of a sudden! The feeling of withdrawal is seen in person when:

  • His participation in any of the activity becomes a formality!

  • He starts being away from all!

  • Communicates to the point or no communication at all!

  • Lack of interest in work!

  • Lack of socializing!

  • Loves his own company!

There could be multiple reasons behind the same!

  • No listener.

  • Lack of understanding.

  • Lack of appreciation.

  • Lack of love.

  • Lack of respect.

When a person is going through all these things, what he expects is expressing himself. And nowadays everyone is occupied in their own way and there is no time to talk to one another. Increased competition and increased targets are killing people.

Human needs human to express himself/herself. They need to put across thoughts and express themselves. If they are ignored, people go in more withdrawal to an extent of depression.

Here it is important to help people who have started withdrawing themselves, help them socializing and be around loved ones. This will help overcome suicidal tendencies in human beings.

So don't judge people.

Be understanding and compassionate towards everyone and try to be the listener.

Communication is the key. Be open to talk to family/friends and help them heal.
